The Sorcerers is a British sci-fi/horror film starring Boris Karloff, Catherine Lacey, Ian Ogilvy, and Susan George. Dr. Marcus Monserrat (Boris Karloff) is an elderly practitioner of medical hypnosis. He lives with his wife, Estelle Monserrat (Catherine Lacey). The doctor has invented a device which allows him to control and feel another person's experiences using the power of hypnosis. The doctor has decided any youngster will do as their test subject, so he invites Mike Roscoe (Ian Ogilvy) to his house with an offer of a 'new experience'. He and his wife can feel everything Mike feels and can also control him. Trying the experiment with Mike at a distance, the doctor now wants to publish his work but his wife wants to continue the experiment to feel new things. The next day, Estelle sees a fur jacket in a store window and convinces Marcus to use Mike to steal the coat. Marcus agrees but only if they never do this again. While Mike is at his girlfriend's apartment, Estelle and Marcus make Mike steal the jacket. Estelle realizes they can do anything they want without any consequences. Estelle begins experiencing the thrill of speeding, murder and other sorts of entertainment until the experiment is totally out of all control. The ending is a surprise, but might have been expected when people begin to take control of other people's behavior. An interesting watch with a superb cast of characters.
