Born in Nagano, Japan, Shuichiro Takeda is a Japanese language professor at Columbia University and New York University in New York City. Over the years, he has also developed courses on Japanese society and popular culture, particularly the history of manga and anime. Now he shares his passion for manga and anime with the many students who have attended his classes.
