Piper at the Gates of Dawn was the debut album by Pink Floyd and their only album to be recorded under the stewardship of founding member Syd Barrett. It was released in 1967 - Barrett was fired midway through the recording of it's follow-up A Saucerful of Secrets. Piper at the Gates of Dawn is highly regarded as a British psychedelic classic and definitely their most wonderfully strange recording.
