About the Author
Willa Cather (1873-1947) was born in Virginia and raised on a Nebraska ranch. She is known for her beautifully evocative short stories and novels about the American West. Cather became the managing editor for McClure's Magazine in 1906 and lived for forty years in New York City with her companion Edith Lewis. In 1922 Cather won the Pulitzer Prize for One of Ours.
Kali Fajardo-Anstine is the author of Sabrina & Corina, a finalist for the National Book Award, the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize, The Story Prize, and winner of an American Book Award, and Woman of Light (2022). She is the 2021 recipient of the Addison M. Metcalf Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She is the 2022-2023 Endowed Chair in Creative Writing at Texas State University.
